cultivating the plant spirit apothecary

Animism is the belief that everything has a spirit. All indigenous cultures the world over have held this belief system, which is to say that somewhere in your ancestry, your family too has lived in this way — each day a co-creation with spirit. Maybe you already move through the world this way. While many people living today don’t hold an animistic view of the world, the earth is no less spirited! As a shamanic practitioner, I engage with spirits on a daily basis, and they are usually thrilled to be acknowledged.
The spirits who are most eager to be of assistance, I have found, are the medicinal plants. They love to communicate with us humans, and do so readily, excited to share their healing gifts with us.
Perhaps you have come to this course because you already know and love plant medicine, having tried teas and tinctures, salves and essences. But did you know that you can work with the healing properties of these plants through energy alone?
In this course, you will learn how to establish a clear connection with these Beings, communicate with them when you wish, embody their healing energies, and cultivate your own Plant Spirit Apothecary.
What is the course?
We will meet over Zoom twice a month for 3 months beginning in February 2024. During each session, we will engage in a group shamanic journey to a Plant Spirit. Through offering, play and communion, we will learn how to cultivate a working relationship with this healing Being. At the end of this course, you will have cultivated an apothecary of connection with six Plant Spirits, which you can call upon like a good friend when your spirit needs healing and when you’re creating medicine for others.
Who is this course for?
Herbalists of any training level, massage therapists, talk therapists, energy workers, witches and magic workers, and anyone who seeks healing through connection with Spirit.
Requirements:
Completion of Fite Fuaite: Fundamentals of Shamanic Journeying or other experience with shamanic journeying (we can discuss)
Tea or tincture of each of the 7 herbs
Eye cover
An offering you can make to the Plant Spirit each month (milk, honey, oats, song, hair, etc.)
Candle and/or cleansing smoke are optional
Class meets on Sundays at 5pm EST.

Goldenrod - February 19
Parsley - March 5
Chamomile - March 19
Rose - April 2
Fennel - April 16
