Plant Spirit Journeying

Have you ever heard a plant speak to you?

Plants communicate all the time, through color and fragrance, and they can also speak directly with us, if we learn how to listen to their more subtle voices.

In this workshop, we will learn how to access the Otherworld, which would otherwise (usually…) remain hidden to us. We will journey to meet and learn directly from a medicinal herb spirit, as well as a benevolent ancestor who may have worked with the plant in their lifetime.

What is Shamanic Journeying?

Shamanic Journeying is a tool used by Shamanic cultures all over the world. When one hears the word “Shamanism”, oftentimes the Shamans indigenous to North and South America are first to come to mind due to their portrayal in US popular culture and the appropriation of Ayahuasca rituals. However, record of Shamanic practices can be found in nearly every indigenous culture on every continent. I am currently in a training program which focuses on the shamanic practices of the Celts, so that is where I will teach from.

Journeying is the process of accessing a trance-like state of consciousness which allows one to interact with “non-ordinary reality”. Often times a sonic driver, such as a drum beat, chanting, and shaking rattles or bells, is used to shift one’s brain into this dream-like, meditative state. For this session, I will provide a drum beat.

Everyone receives messages in different ways. Some may see visuals, others will hear voices clear as a bell, while others may feel sensations. There is no one experience that is better than another, and the way in which a message is sent is intentional; The spirits always find the most direct way to communicate.

Where can I sign up?

This workshop will be held online via Google Meet, with a suggested donation of $5. Send an email to SeaSongRootRI@gmail.com + I will send you the link and info! This a sober workshop, please refrain using any altering substances while journeying.
